- The Carr Inlet is a bay that almost seems like a strait in the southern Puget Sound west of Tacoma. It runs counterclockwise north-south with Key Peninsula on the east and Gig Harbor Peninsula on the west. The north side of the bay connects to Henderson Bay, which in turn connects to Burley Lagoon. The southern end connects to Nisqually Reach. Before Nisqually Reach, it connects to Hale Passage around Fox Island to the east, and it connects to Pitt Passage around McNeil island to the west.

Charles Hoy Fort (August 6, 1874 – May 3, 1932) was an American writer and researcher who specialized in anomalous phenomena. The terms “Fortean” and “Forteana” are sometimes used to characterize various such phenomena. Fort’s books sold well and are still in print. His work continues to inspire admirers, who refer to themselves as “Forteans”, and has influenced some aspects of science fiction.

Carr Inlet, in southern Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington, is an arm of water between Key Peninsula and Gig Harbor Peninsula. Its southern end is connected to the southern basin of Puget Sound. Northward, it separates McNeil Island and Fox Island. The northern end of Carr Inlet is named Henderson Bay, which feeds into Burley Lagoon.
