- The Dana Passage is a short east-west strait on the immediate south side of Harstine Island. The east side connects to Nisqually Reach and Henderson Inlet, and the west side connects to unnamed waters in the south region of the Puget Sound system near Olympia. The boundary between Mason County and Thurston County runs through the center of the strait, with Mason County to the north and Thurston County to the south.
