- Situated atop a knoll just east of Spokane, this 100 acre site preserves the largest of only a few remaining examples of a ponderosa pine/grassland ecosystem that was historically much more common in the Spokane Valley. Despite an increasing level of urban development in the surrounding landscape, the preserve still supports nesting hawks and owls, and a variety of songbirds.

Pacific County is a county in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, the population was 23,365. Its county seat is South Bend, and its largest city is Raymond. The county was formed by the government of Oregon Territory in February 1851 and is named for the Pacific Ocean.
