Seventy-seven acre Daybreak Park fronts the East Fork Lewis River in rural Clark County. There’s a more developed side of the park on the east side of 82nd Avenue with picnic tables, a play area, and restrooms. On the west side of 82nd, there’s a boat launch but also a trail loop that circles a big meadow and allows access to the cobbled shore of the river.

Duck Lake is a shallow, marshy expanse in the overflow plain of the East Fork Lewis River. It is rimmed by a dense growth of wapato (Sagittaria latifolia). Duck Lake is managed by the state as part of the Mount Saint Helens Wildlife Area.

The Lower East Fork River Greenway is a corridor of county land on the East Fork between Daybreak Park and La Center. The corridor is undeveloped except for a gated maintenance road that runs its length. The road is mowed for the convenience of hikers, birdwatchers, and equestrians once the flooded sections have dried up in late spring. Over the last three decades, there has been much removal of invasive species and reintroduction of native plants. In 2025, an enhancement project was dealing with filling in gravel mining pits in the river floodplain and restoring salmon habitat.

This small pond at the bottom of a forested bluff is on Clark County’s East Fork Lewis River Greenway property. A heron or egret may be poised by the water’s edge. Native aquatic plants such as bulrush, bur-reed, bladderwort, and wapato or arrowleaf live here. Beyond a bridge at the pond, there’s a sign welcoming the public to the greenway.

This infrastructure includes rail lines, state highways, state ferries (considered part of the highway system) and state airports.

The East Fork Lewis River is a river in the state of Washington in the United States. It is the largest tributary of the Lewis River. Its source is on Green Lookout Mountain in Skamania County. It then flows to the west through Clark County until it converges with the Lewis about 3.5 mi (5.6 km) upstream from the Columbia River.
