The county seat and namesake of the county is the city of Anoka, which is derived from the Dakota word anoka meaning “on (or from) both sides”, referring to its location on both banks of the Rum River. The largest city in the county is Blaine, the tenth-largest city in Minnesota and the sixth-largest Twin Cities suburb.

Sasquatch! Music Festival was an annual music festival held at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, United States. It took place on Memorial Day weekend, running for three to four days. In 2018, it was announced that the festival was canceled indefinitely and would not return in 2019.
