- The Bird’s Head Plate is a minor tectonic plate incorporating the Bird’s Head Peninsula, at the western end of the island of New Guinea. Hillis and Müller consider it to be moving in unison with the Pacific Plate. P. Bird considers it to be unconnected to the Pacific Plate.

This park is part of the 119-acre Fallen Leaf Lake Park system. The property is a destination for picnics and relaxation on the shores of the lake while informal nature trails wind through the forest along the lakeshore. Enjoy a picnic in the beautiful shelter or at the picnic tables overlooking the lake. The picnic shelter can be reserved for private events Memorial Day Weekend through the end of September.
