- Showshoe Falls (waterfallsnorthwest.com)
Snowshoe Falls is the second largest waterfall along Denny Creek, but because it’s both difficult to access from below and very hard to see from above it doesn’t receive nearly the amount of attention that neighboring Keekwulee Falls does. Snowshoe Falls is tucked at the head of a narrow gorge, about half of a mile upstream from Keekwulee Falls, largely hidden from view from the adjacent trail by the steep canyon walls, but the base can be accessed in the summer by rock hopping up the stream once the avalanche deposited snow melts out from the canyon. Unfortunately the only time of year when this is possible is when the streamflow will be lower and the falls will be far less impressive than it may be in the early summer months during the freshet.
