- The Tigris (/ˈtaɪɡrɪs/ TY-griss; see below) is the eastern of the two great rivers that define Mesopotamia, the other being the Euphrates. The river flows south from the mountains of the Armenian Highlands through the Syrian and Arabian Deserts, before merging with the Euphrates and reaching to the Persian Gulf.
- Billy Clapp Lake Wildlife Area Unit (wdfw.wa.gov)
The Billy Clapp Lake Unit is along what was originally called Long Lake Reservoir, but renamed in honor of one of the originators of the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project. The natural coulee was dammed on the lower south end (Pinto Dam) to create the reservoir. The Stratford Game Reserve encompasses nearly all the public land in this unit.
