Yacolt /ˈjækoʊlt/ is a town in Clark County, Washington, United States. The 2023 population is estimated to be 1,626. It is located about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Vancouver which is part of the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area.
Clarke emigrated to Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in 1956, to pursue his interest in scuba diving. That year, he discovered the underwater ruins of the ancient original Koneswaram Temple in Trincomalee.
