- The U.S. Highway 395 is a 1,300 mile (2,100 km) long north-south highway that runs inland of the West Coast, through the eastern portions of Washington, Oregon, California and a short stretch of Nevada. The route is the main (and, in many places, only) road that follows the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, more rugged than the west, the interior of the remote “Oregon Outback” and Washington’s Coulee Country. The highway is a gateway to national forests, parks, and ski resorts throughout its course.
