White Center is an unincorporated area of King County, just south of West Seattle and north of Burien. The area embraces its nickname of ‘Rat City’, making it a part of its punk-rock mixed-ethnicity identity.
Deep currents in the strait flow from east to west, and the current nearer the surface travels from west to east.
