Practical, proverbial, and blunt, James is an epistle of the Greek New Testament traditionally attributed to James the brother of Jesus and written in Koine Greek in the first century AD. Addressed to ‘the twelve tribes in the dispersion’, it counsels endurance in trials, warns against favoring the wealthy, anatomizes the dangers of the tongue, and insists that faith without works is dead.
