- Cape Alava Loop Hike (OregonHikers.org)
The loop from the Ozette Trailhead to Sand Point and Cape Alava is one of the most popular hikes in the Olympic National Park and is especially crowded on summer weekends. You can complete the loop as a day hike or backpack to the coast, where you will need reservations to camp overnight between May 1st and September 30th. Two legs of this triangle are in damp coastal rain forest, while the middle leg takes in a scenic wilderness shore with numerous rugged sea stacks and islands off the beach.
If there is an underlying oneness of all things, it does not matter where we begin, whether with stars, or laws of supply and demand, or frogs, or Napoleon Bonaparte. One measures a circle, beginning anywhere.
