George Herbert Walker Bush (June 12, 1924 - November 30, 2018) was the 41st President of the United States. In his earlier life, he had been a World War II naval aviator (and for a time was the youngest one), completing one mission with an aircraft on fire. He also spent a year as Director of the CIA. He is the father of the other President Bush, George W. Bush.

It is a multiple star approximately 1,300 ly away with a combined apparent magnitude of 3.33. The main components are an O8 giant star and a B-class main sequence star, separated by about 4″. Despite Meissa being more luminous and only slightly further away than Rigel, it appears 3 magnitudes dimmer at visual wavelengths, with much of its radiation emitted in the ultraviolet due to its high temperature.

A member of the Republican Party, he also served as the 43rd vice president from 1981 to 1989 under Ronald Reagan, and in various other federal positions prior to that.
