This is a climbing route (class 3 and 4) and not a trail, and should only be attempted by experienced climbers. There have been numerous search and rescue missions here.

Gunn Peak is the highest point of Wild Sky Wilderness, with a summit elevation of 6240’. The mountain is also the 29th-most prominent peak in Washington, with 3651’ of prominence. The mountain is fairly isolated, with the next highest peak being located over 10 miles away. The summit offers a complete 360° panoramic location, with far-ranging views of jagged peaks and rugged valleys in all directions, solidifying its place as the “crown jewel” of the Wild Sky Wilderness area.
