Moulton Falls is the smallest of the five named waterfalls along the East Fork Lewis River, but also the easiest to access. The falls flume down a narrow trough, dropping over a series of potholes for just over 10 vertical feet before the river mellows. When the East Fork runs high the falls swallow themselves up pretty well and it becomes more of a long rushing rapid than a waterfall, so if one is pressed for time, I would suggest skipping this waterfall and seeking out the better falls in the area.

A converted rails to trails grade runs for about 2 1/2 miles along the south bank of the East Fork Lewis River from Hantwick Road, near Lucia Falls to the East Fork High Bridge. This wide trail is used by walkers, joggers, and cyclists. You’ll get great views of the East Fork and then, once in Moulton Falls County Park, visit a couple of small waterfalls - Moulton Falls and Yacolt Falls.

This hike combines a peaceful stroll with a bit of adventure. After a short steep pitch down from the parking lot, the virtually flat trail allows you to cruise down the spacious path as fast or a slow as you like. For a side adventure, you can check out Big Tree Falls or climb the Bells Mountain Trail to a viewpoint.
