Wild Horse is currently CLOSED for public access and recreation during the winter (December – March). Registration for non-hunting recreation permits for the 2024 season (April – November) will be available in March 2024.

These are both silica minerals, but they differ in that quartz has a trigonal crystal structure, while moganite is monoclinic. Chalcedony’s standard chemical structure (based on the chemical structure of quartz) is SiO2 (silicon dioxide).
