The [Fir] island is connected by bridge to the village of Conway, located on the east shore of the South Fork of the Skagit River.
The Fir Island Farm Unit is located in southwest Skagit County on Fir Island. The unit is located on Fir Island Road, about 2.7 miles west of the South Fork Skagit River bridge in Conway.
The name “South Fork Skagit River Bridge” was found on the WDFW webpage for the Fir Island Farm Reserve Wildlife Area Unit. It may not be an official name.
Two of the largest known impact events on Earth occurred during the Orosirian. Early in the period, 2023 Mya, a large asteroid collision created the Vredefort impact structure. The event that created the Sudbury Basin structure occurred near the end of the period, 1850 Mya.
