Stanley Kubrick (allthetropes.org)
Stanley Kubrick is a controversial director. In a good way. His films span nearly every genre he could get his hands on—but start in the wrong place.- When a Director Is Too Controlling - Stanley Kubrick (YouTube)
Stanley Kubrick is one of the greatest film directors who directed classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, Dr. Strangelove and A Clockwork Orange. But behind the scenes he was known for his pursuit of perfection which was both legendary and notorious. From pushing actors beyond exhaustion to demanding hundreds of takes for a single scene, he showcased his unparalleled attention to detail and his ability to master any genre he tackled. His 13 films are filled with complex and sometimes controversial characters. But none of those characters are as complex or fascinating as Kubrick himself.

Kubrick is one of the most influential directors of the 20th Century, his career spanning almost five decades. He is perhaps best known for his bordering on insane attention to detail when it came to what’s in the frame, requiring take after take until the shot was perfect. This video looks at a handful of his most interesting shots, and breaking them down, examining how they elevate the themes of their films, and the visual techniques that are on display.
- Wells Fargo Center (Minneapolis) (Wikipedia)
The Wells Fargo Center (90 South 7th St), formerly known as Norwest Center, is the third-tallest building in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after the IDS Center and the Capella Tower. Completed in 1988, it is 774 feet (236 m) tall. For many years, this was believed to be one foot shorter than Capella, but that structure actually had a different height (see the Capella Tower article for details). Norwest Center was designed with a modernized art deco style by César Pelli, reflecting nearby structures such as the nearby CenturyLink Building and the Foshay Tower, which is several blocks away. It is also considered by many to be a homage to 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City.
