The southern end of Budd Inlet is divided into two channels – West Bay and East Bay – by a peninsula that was artificially broadened throughout the late 19th and early 20th century.

West Bay is one of two bays in the harbor of Olympia, Washington. The other is East Bay.
The western side of the bay is along the Olympic Peninsula.
The south end of the bay connects to the Deschutes River, separated by a dam.
