- With an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 visitors each year, Mount Si is arguably the most heavily climbed trail in the entire state of Washington. Mount Si is used by a wide variety of people- hikers, climbers, trad climbers, trail runners, people training to climb Rainier, and even mixed climbers in winter. It is not uncommon to see paragliders who have used Mount Si as a launching pad, either.

The Mount Si Natural Resources Conservation Area (NRCA) is one of the most climbed regions of Washington State. The centerpiece of the area is a steep, rugged mountain ridge spanning across the Mount Si NRCA mostly west-east (with a couple of short offshoot ridges and highpoints). Although most recreational use occurs on popular destinations Mount Si, Little Si, and Mount Teneriffe, the lesser known peaks of the area (Green Mountain, Dixie Peak, Blowdown Mountain, and Crater Lake Mountain) also offer substantial recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Johns River Wildlife Area is located in Grays Harbor County and Pacific County, and covers approximately 11,200 acres of land. The wildlife area’s units are found mostly along Grays Harbor and Willapa Bay near the coast of the Pacific Ocean on the Olympic Peninsula.
